Abducted is the fourth studio album released by Hypocrisy. It is the album where the band started to change its sound. On this release melodic death metal was brought into the original death metal sound. It was also released as a limited edition digipak, not to be confused with the non-limited edition digipak re-release.

The samples in the intro, "The Gathering", are taken from the so-called Halt Tape, which was allegedly recorded during the Rendlesham Forest incident on December 26, 1980.
