What is "aaata"

Aaata is a genus of beetles belonging to the Buprestidae family.

The genus name Aaata has been described as a synonym to two species in the Microcionidae family of sea sponges ( Demospongiae). The two species being:

• Aaata brepha (de Laubenfels, 1930); also known as Anaata brepha
• Aaata spongigartina (de Laubenfels, 1930); also known as Anaata spongigartina

The above are synonyms for Clathria brepha and Clathria spongigartina respectively (de Laubenfels, 1930). The two later names are now the currently accepted definitions for the species.
