Thieves (band)

Thieves was a British pop duo active during the early 1990s. It was most notable for being the band on which both members – singer David McAlmont and multi-instrumentalist/producer Saul Freeman (the latter to go on to trip-hop band Mandalay) – based their subsequent musical careers.

Critically feted by the British weekly music press during their lifetime, the duo also won two Single of the Week awards in Melody Maker but split shortly before the scheduled release of their debut album (which was later released as McAlmont’s debut solo album).

Thieves is the second studio album by Australian indie rock band British India, released on 19 July 2008, but also sold early by the band at album launch parties. Thieves was also selected as Triple J's Feature Album in that month, beating both The Vines' album Melodia as well as The Living End's album White Noise. In August 2008 it was announced that Thieves was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Independent Release.

Thieves (1996 film)

Thieves is a 1996 French drama film directed by André Téchiné, starring Daniel Auteuil, Catherine Deneuve and Laurence Côte. The plot follows a cynical police officer, who comes from a family of thieves, and a lonely philosophy professor, both romantically involved with a self-destructive petty criminal. With a puzzling structure, the story is told through a series of flashbacks presented from four different perspectives.

"Thieves" is a song by American duo She & Him. Written by Zooey Deschanel, the song was released as the second single from the duo's second album, Volume Two. On 9 February 2010, She & Him were interviewed on BBC 6 Music and performed "Thieves" and "Gonna Get Along without You Now" from the not-yet-released album. Two versions of the song "Thieves" were made available online. One was that played for the BBC interview and two weeks later Stereogum premiered the studio version from the album.

On 9 July 2010, a video of "Thieves" directed by Norwood Cheek was released on Pitchfork Media.

"Thieves" was released by Merge Records on 31 August 2010, with "I Knew It Would Happen This Way" on the B-side of the vinyl single.

"Thieves" is a song by American industrial metal band Ministry. It is the opening track from the band's fourth studio album, The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste (1989), and was released as the album's second single. The song's lyrics deal mainly with political corruption. The song includes dialogue samples from R. Lee Ermey's drill instructor character in Full Metal Jacket. Ministry's version was featured in the 1992 science fiction film Freejack, also in the 2009 video game " Brütal Legend".
