1. The European ibex.

2. A small South African antelope ( Nanotragus tragulus) which frequents dry, rocky districts; -- called also steenbok. [Written also steinboc, and steinbok; also called stonebock, and stonebuck.]

Note: The Alpine ibex ( Capra ibex) is the best known. The Spanish, or Pyrenean, ibex ( Capra Hispanica) has smoother and more spreading horns.
