Low Island (South Shetland Islands)

Low Island or Isla Baja, historical names Jameson Island or Jamesons Island is an island long and wide, southeast of Smith Island, in the South Shetland Islands. The island is located at and is separated from Smith Island by Osmar Strait. Low Island was so named because of its low elevation. Low Island was known to sealers in 1820, and the name Low Island has been established in international usage for 100 years.

Low Island (Queensland)

Low Island North Queensland is about north-east of Port Douglas in Trinity Bay, North Queensland. It is around 2 hectares or 0.02 square km in size.

Low Island is part of the Low Isles. Low Isles consists of two islands, Woody Island an uninhabited coral/mangrove island, but the main attraction is Low Isle - which is a smaller vegetated, sandy, coral cay surrounded by of reef - a "typical" tropical island like you see on the movies.

The Low Islets are a Marine National Park Zone. Day visitors come to the island on a daily basis via a number of commercial operators. There is a lagoon where private vessel can moor or anchor overnight, but there is no overnight accommodation on the island. There is a weather station, an active lighthouse (named Low Isles Light) and the research station.

No fishing is allowed in the lagoon or within a buffer zone around the islands - the main activity is snorkelling and diving.

Low Island (Nunavut)

Low Island is one of the many uninhabited Canadian arctic islands in Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut. It is a Baffin Island offshore island located in Frobisher Bay just off the Bartlett Narrows, southeast of the capital city of Iqaluit. Other islands in the immediate vicinity include Culbertson Island, Mark Island, McAllister Island, Mitchell Island, and Precipice Island.

Another Low Island lies in the Milne Inlet of northern Baffin Island.
