KUER-FM

KUER-FM is a public radio station licensed to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Broadcasting at 90.1 MHz FM, KUER (Utah Education Radio) is a National Public Radio (NPR)-member station, also airing shows distributed by Public Radio International and American Public Media. The station produces the award-winning RadioWest, a local discussion forum hosted by Doug Fabrizio. In addition, the station carries most of the regular NPR fare, such as All Things Considered, Fresh Air, Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! and Morning Edition, as well as local news, and jazz music in the evenings. Most of the station's syndicated fare, including Car Talk reruns, Whad'Ya Know, Mountain Stage, This American Life, On The Media, Le Show and A Prairie Home Companion, is heard on weekends. Its studios are located in the Eccles Broadcast Center on the U of U campus, while its transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak, after relocating from Mount Vision in the Oquirrh Mountains in 2011.

With the advent of digital FM radio, KUER has broadened its offerings. KUER-HD2 airs Xponential Radio, a national format from WHYY-FM in Philadelphia, that airs, along with some pop hits, "legacy and indie rock." KUER-HD3 broadcasts classical music from American Public Media's Classical 24.

KUER has a 10-watt booster in the town of Alta providing coverage there as the main transmitter is shielded by terrain. It also has a second 1,000 watt booster on Lewis Peak, providing coverage to the Park City area.
