iikss (International Institute of Khazar (Caspian) Sea Studies), is an Iranian NGO founded by researchers from Iran. This institution works on various field concerning the Caspian Sea, such as legal, political, environmental, economic and historical context. iikss was founded by Dr. Maysam Araee Daronkola, faculty member of PNU university.
The iikss team researchies issues effecting the Caspian Sea and publishes important news in the English, Persian, and Russian languages. The most important goal of this institution is the development of public information about the Caspian Sea region and to improve attention of environmental change on the Caspian Sea.
