WMGQ, known on-air as Magic 98.3, is a radio station broadcasting from Somerset, New Jersey (the site of both the studio and transmitter tower) and licensed to New Brunswick (less than a mile away). It is located at 98.3 FM. The station can be heard in Monmouth, Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Union, and Hunterdon counties and parts of Morris and Essex counties. Magic 98.3 is programmed by Jeff Rafter.
The station plays mostly adult contemporary music from the 1970s through the present, and their slogan is "Today's Hits, Yesterday's Favorites". WMGQ is owned by Greater Media, along with its sister station, WCTC. The station plays core artists like Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, Elton John, John Mayer, Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Beyoncé, and Journey. Magic 98.3 used Reelworld for their jingle package. Back in the 1990s, the station used to have their jingles sung by a company called JAM Creative Productions until 2002. They purchased a custom package on August 1, 2015. Before the Current Package From TM Century(http://www.tmstudios.com/index.php/jingles/lite-ac-ac/item/brite-ac?category_id=6,) called Brite AC, They had Reelworld's WLIT 2005.
Traditionally, Magic 98.3 starts playing Christmas music 24/7 from Thanksgiving Eve until Christmas Day is over. From 2005 to 2009, WMGQ played Christmas music on November 20 to the day after Christmas is over (which most radio stations do). Today, Magic 98.3 goes all Christmas the Friday before Thanksgiving.
