What is "webtag"

WebTAG refers to the UK Department for Transport's web-based multimodal guidance on appraising transport projects and proposals.

WebTAG reflects the New Approach to Appraisal that was developed in 1998 and initially applied to decisions on trunk road schemes and a series of major multimodal studies. WebTAG was first issued in 2003.

Webtag is an on-line bioinformatics tool providing oligonucleotide sequences (usually called tags or anchors) that are absent from a specified genome. These tags can be appended to gene specific primers for reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction ( RT-PCR) experiments, circumventing genomic DNA contamination.
