'' Uraan'' (the flight) is a Pakistani drama television serial which premiered on Geo Entertainment on 6 November 2010. The serial is written by popular Urdu novelist turned screenplay writer Umera Ahmed, directed by Yasir Nawaz and produced by Evernew Productions. It is a serial that not only deals with the issues of marriage, divorce and domestic violence but also recognizes the strength, talent and courage of the modern Pakistani woman. Retitled as Maan Jaao, it also aired in India on Zindagi.
Uraan (English: flight) was a popular Pakistani drama serial Aired on Pakistan Television Network in 1995. The Drama serial was written and directed by Shahid Nadeem and sponsored by Pakistan International Airlines.Episodes of drama serial "Uraan" covered different aspects of air travel and events related to lives of passengers and airline professionals like cabin crew and pilots. Shooting of serial's episodes took place in various cities including Paris, New York, London, Kathmandu, Istanbul and Nairobi. Plot:
Aamira (Faryal Gohar) a senior PIA flight purser and daughter of a conservative father remembers the days when she used to look at the sky from the window of her dark room where she was restricted by her father and from the window of her husband's home where her husband doesn't like her to stand and watch, dreaming of flying like a bird, a kite or a plane. Rejoins PIA after few years of break and break up with her husband.
Faiza (Sawera Nadeem) a new PIA air hostess joined PIA against will of her family and her fiance Khalid (Nabeel) and is constantly under pressure to leave the job.
(Shakeel) A senior PIA pilot, serving from 25 years in PIA and a very responsible person at job. He knows the importance of being a pilot in an airline, which needs attention, care, time and responsibility which he delivers well but her wife and son are unhappy with him as he has to stay out of home because of his flight schedules.
(Abid Ali) ex-husband of Aamira, thinks Aamira was irresponsible towards him and their son. He wanted her to forget the past, not to rejoin PIA and start a new life which in his opinion was good for making up a good family.
Captain Nauman a co-pilot in PIA on his first international flight falls in love with air hostess Faiza.
Captain Imran (Sohail Malik) a flight engineer in PIA is emotionally involved with senior flight purser Aamira. (Sohail Malik is one of the real life PIA flight engineer played a role in drama serial Uraan as flight engineer)
Khanzada sab (Mehmood Aslam) a wealthy influential person travels abroad frequently for entertainment, flirts with female staff on board.
Akhtar sab a ...... later becomes country manager of PIA in Nepal. For sack of his job he obeys influential people.
