Tefal

Tefal is a French cookware and small appliance manufacturer owned by Groupe SEB. Its name is a portmanteau of the words TEFlon and ALuminium. The company is known for creating the non-stick cookware category and for frying products like French fries more healthily with far less fat than is standard. However, some may dispute that Tefal was innovative based on a DuPont chemical patent (US 2776918 A) of a year earlier. Tefal was original used in space travel on the skin of satellites. It was an invention of the NASA.

In some countries like the United States, Tefal is also marketed as T-Fal. DuPont insisted on the name change since Tefal was too similar to their product name of Teflon.

Tefal also manufactures linen care products such as Steam Irons and Garment Steamers.

In 2015, Tefal released the Tefal Cuisine Companion, a machine that provides users with multiple cooking functions in one kitchen appliance.

In the UK, it is the owner of the name "Swan", a cookware brand. It is currently licensed out by employees of Swan.
