Tamanna (2014 film)

Tamanna (; meaning Desire) is 2014 British- Pakistani film distributed by Royal Palm Group t/a Summit Entertainment (Pak) and Super Cinema and ARY Films and produced by Concordia Productions. A drama in the neo-noir genre the film is directed by a British director Steven Moore and produced by Pakistani producer Sarah Tareen. The film stars Omair Rana, Salman Shahid, Mehreen Raheel and Faryal Gohar.

Prior to release the film won an award at the London Asian Film Festival for the first released song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Other songs included in the film are sung by Ali Azmat and Amanat Ali. The original score for the film was written by Arthur Rathbone Pullen son of Booker Prize nominee and best selling English author Julian Rathbone.

Tamanna (1942 film)

Tamanna is a Bollywood film. It was released in 1942. The film was directed by Phani Majumdar, who also wrote the screenplay, for Laxmi Productions Ltd. banner. This was the first film from Laxmi banner, which had been started by Chimanlal Trivedi who earlier headed Circo Productions. Tamanna was also the renowned dancer, Leela Desai's, first film in Bombay. The main cast included Leela Desai, P. Jairaj, Karan Dewan, Jagdish Sethi and K. C. Dey, who besides acting, composed the music. S. K. Kalla wrote the dialogue and lyrics.

Leela Desai, had previously worked in films made in Calcutta, like Vidyapati (1937), President (1937), Kapal Kundala (1939), Nartaki (1940) and Jiban Maran (1940). Nargis appeared as a child actress in the film and "charmed the audiences".

The story revolves around two people, Ramesh and Uma, who are in love with each other. Uma foregoes her love for Ramesh in order to help him fulfill his mission by marrying someone else.

Tamanna (English: Desire or Aim in Life) is a Hindi-language Indian television soap opera, aired worldwide on Star Plus daily at 10:00PM IST (UTC+5:30), since 1 February 2016. It replaced the popular sitcom Sumit Sambhal Lega. The story is set in Jamnagar, Gujarat but filmed in Mumbai.
