SwinDoe is an American rapper. His debut, self-titled album reached #123 on the Billboard 200 in 2010.
Houston area rapper SwinDoe – originally from Tucson, AZ—made music industry history by running a global, Billboard charting campaign from his BlackBerry smart phone. Publicizing his PIN (3079E65E) inside of a catchy jingle, he was able to sell his album through various BlackBerry themed websites from around the world.
Armed only with his BlackBerry and leveraging 21st century digital technology, SwinDoe was able to amass a following of over 1.3 million Myspace views and 50,000 PlanetSwindoe.com fans, which resulted in over 30,000 units sold in less than 30 days. This energy landed him on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart in the #3 position. SwinDoe accomplished all of this without the traditional marketing and promotions infrastructure, budget or media support.
Swindoe has taken some of the proceeds from his sales to produce a BlackBerry commercial which he intends to run on national television and cable stations throughout the month of April. Swindoe hopes that he will get the attention of BlackBerry corporate sponsorship for his upcoming international tour.
Swindoe is the self-titled album by American rapper SwinDoe. It is also his first studio album. It was released independently on February 8, 2010.
