Secern \Se*cern"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Secerned; p. pr. & vb. n. Secerning.] [L. secernere. See Secrete.]

  1. To separate; to distinguish.

    Averroes secerns a sense of titillation, and a sense of hunger and thirst.
