What is "saswad"

Saswad is a city and a municipal council in the Pune district of Maharashtra. Saswad is situated on the banks of Karha River and is famous because the great Marathi Socialist, Writer and Filmmaker P. K. Atre alias Aacharya Atre was born here. He is One of the Leader in the United Marathi Speaker State Movement, his series of books on the Movement viz. Karheche Pani कऱ्हेचे पाणी created Undisputed Place in the History of Marathi Language.
