Wikipedia Rupephaps Rupephaps taketake, also referred to as the Saint Bathans Pigeon, is an extinct species of pigeon from the Miocene of New Zealand. It is the first species of columbid to be described from pre- Pliocene fossil deposits in the Australasian region.
