What is "ror"

The Ror community is found mainly to the north of New Delhi in India with most of their villages in Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Panipat of Haryana and across those districts of Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand that are close to the Haryana border.

In 2012, a research study sponsored by Maratha Jagruti Manch claimed that the Ror community descends from around 500 Maratha soldiers who remained in Haryana after the Maratha defeat at the Battle of Panipat, 1761.
