Republica are an English alternative rock band, formed in 1994. The height of their popularity spanned from 1996 to 1999. The current line-up consists of Saffron (vocals), Tim Dorney (keyboards), Johnny Male (guitar), Conor Lawrence (drums).

The Republica sound was described by the band as " technopop punk rock". The band went on hiatus in 2001 and reunited in 2008. Republica are best known for their hit single, " Ready to Go".

Republica (album)

Republica is the debut studio album by English band Republica. It was released first released in the United States on 30 July 1996 by RCA Records. In the United Kingdom, it was released on 5 October 1996 by Deconstruction Records. Produced by the band with additional production by Ben Grosse, Republica is an alternative rock and electronica album with strong influence of rave music. It incorporates genres such as techno, acid house and trip hop.

Upon its release, Republica received generally positive reviews from music critics and was a commercial success. It peaked at number four on the UK Album Charts. In the United States, it reached number 153 on the Billboard 200 and was also successful in other countries, such as Germany and New Zealand.

Three singles were released from the album: "Bloke" and two hit singles, " Ready to Go" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous".
