What is "rajani"

Rajani (born Shashi Kaur Malhotra) is an Indian film actress known for her works predominantly in Telugu cinema (as Rajani), Kollywood (as Sasikala), and a few Kannada and Malayalam films.

She was starred in 150 feature films including, Seetharama Kalyanam, Rendu Rella Aaru, Aha Naa Pellanta opposite Rajendra Prasad, Majnu opposite Nagarjuna and Seetaramula Kalyanam opposite Balakrishna. She also starred in Kannada films including Jai Karnataka a remake of 1987 Bollywood hit Mr. India) with Ambareesh and Neenu Nakkare Haalu Sakkare with Vishnuvardhan. She was then starred in Bharathan's Malayalam hit Padheyam opposite Mammootty.

Rajani was a popular TV series aired on Doordarshan in the mid-1980s directed by Basu Chatterjee. It had Priya Tendulkar in lead role. It became immensely popular for creating awareness among lax government offices and officials. It was written by Karan Razdan who also acted in the series.
