What is "posebyen"

Posebyen is a neighborhood in Kristiansand, Norway. Posebyen is located in the downtown borough Kvadraturen. It consist mostley of large white wooden houses, many of these are left after the big city fire in 1892. These wooden buildings are the longest continuous collection of wooden houses in northern Europe.

The high school Kvadraturen skolesenter and the elementary school Tordenskjoldsgate Schools located in the neighborhood.

The streets Tollbodgata, Rådhusgata, Gyldenløves gate, Skippergata, Henrik Wergelands gate, Kristian IVs gate and Tordenskjolds gate are the streets that crosses Posebyen west and east, while the streets Festningsgata, Holbergs gate, Kronprinsens gate and Elvegata crosses from north to south.

Posebyen is located north for Tangen, mideast for Gyldengården and northeast for Nybyen.
