PORSE

PORSE is a provider of in-home childcare services, education and tertiary training in New Zealand. The first PORSE programme was created by founding director Jenny Yule and Leslie Gaston in 1993.

The PORSE programme is based on child attachment theory research and PORSE believe that young children should spend at least the first three years of their lives nurtured respectively in a home environment. PORSE matches in-home educators and nannies with families looking for childcare services and has 45 Community teams around New Zealand. Educators and Nannies educate the children in their care using PORSE’s programme as well as being assisted by locally organized activities that promote the sharing of information, knowledge and resources. PORSE’s offers the NZQA certified National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level3).
