Platinum Blonde (band)

Platinum Blonde is a Canadian rock music group formed in Toronto in 1979. At the beginning of its most commercially successful period in the mid-1980s, the band consisted of Mark Holmes on vocals and bass, Sergio Galli on guitar and Chris Steffler on drums. Scottish musician Kenny MacLean joined the group as bassist in 1985, freeing Holmes from bass duties.

Platinum Blonde is a 1931 American Pre-Code romantic comedy motion picture starring Jean Harlow, Robert Williams, and Loretta Young. The film was written by Jo Swerling and directed by Frank Capra. Platinum Blonde was Robert Williams' last screen appearance; he died of peritonitis three days after the film's October 31 release.

Though not as well known as Capra's later 1930s movies, the film's reputation has grown over the years. It is occasionally aired in the United States on Turner Classic Movies.

Platinum Blonde is the self-titled debut EP by Platinum Blonde released in 1983. The EP was only released on vinyl and cassette and is also known as Six Track Attack. It reached a high of #39 on the Canadian charts in early 1984, before being subsequently re-released with four additional tracks as the full-length Standing in the Dark album in 1984.
