Perungalathur ( Tamil: பெருங்களத்தூர்) or New Perungalathur is a panchayat town located in Chennai city , Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. it is a suburb in the southwestern part of Chennai city.It is around 3 km from Tambaram. And it is at an equal distance from Chennai City and the Chengelpet Town. The neighbourhood is served by Perungalathur railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network.
