Perumudivakkam

Perumudivakkam is small village on the outskirts of Chennai, and a developing residential area in North Chennai, a metropolitan city in Tamil Nadu, India. It is Located Northwest Chennai in Tiruvallur District near to the proposed Smart City Ponneri. It is 29 km from the Chennai Koyambedu terminus and 10 km from Red Hills Bus Terminus.

Perumudivakkam has a temple for Sri KothandaRama and the temple is connected with Ramayana. When Sri Rama was proceeding towards Ayothaya with Sita Devi after the war with Ravana, he happened to pass through this place. This place was then called as Magudabishakam.

Perumidivakkam also has a 1000 - 2000 year old temple for Lord Shiva called as SIVANANDEESWARAR TEMPLE, which has been described by Thirughnasambanthar in Thevaram. Here the Moolavar is Siva Nandeeswarar and Utchavar is SomasKandar with Nandi Theertham. Anandavalli Thayaar appears here in this tiruthalam. The historical name of this temple is Tirukallil. The Temple is very clean and neat.

Perumudivakkam Village lies across MDR 740 (Major District Road) which connects Kannigaipair to Vengal, Seethancherry, Poondi and then Tiruvallur.
