Palaparru

Palaparru is a village situated under the Pedanandipadu mandal, Guntur district. It is located 6 km from Pedandipadu. The population of this village is approximately 3000. This village has a good water facility, good climate and soil conditions suitable for growing commercial crops like cotton, tobacco and chillies.

The two major political parties ruling here are YSRCP ([YSR Congress Party]), TDP ( Telugu Desam Party) and Congress, apart from small parties like CPM. The village comes under the Prattipadu constituency for the state elections and under central elections it comes under west Guntur constituency. In the years 2004 to 2009, and from 2009 onwards congress won this constituency of Prattipadu. Prior to that TDP won 3 times, and recently TDP won the by poll elections.

This village has two schools: Elementary school (1st standard to 5th standard) and a High school (6th standard to 10th standard). It has a big water lake called Pedda Cheruvu, which is treated and used for drinking water. The soil is black regur, hence it is good for growing cotton. The underground water is not suitable for drinking water and for crops. All the crops majorly depends on rain water and some crops like paddy depend on Nagarjuna Sagar canal water which goes through Vogeru Vagu through Palaparru.

The village has three temples: The Venugopalaswamy Temple, the Sivalayam Temple and the Brahmam Ghari Temple. It has two churches, and one recently built mosque.

This village has a monument which was built in remembrance of the great life sacrfying movement (TELENGANA SAYUDHA RAITANGA PORATAM), which was done by 8 comrades (YUVA KISHORAS) during the year 1950. This was done to protest against the activities done by the Congress government at that time. So in view of their remembrance, this village has a MRUTHA VEERULA SMARAKA STHUPAM and every year in the month of May, a meet (MRUTHA VEERULA SMARAKA SABHA) is done to remember these things. It was rebuilt in 1983 near the lake which was on the way to Pedanandipadu.

At present in this village, the panchayat was under the rule of YSRCP PARTY at the same time village youth strongly support TDP party.Recently NTR statue opened in this village.this place is called "NTR Rachabanda'.
