Goatsucker \Goat"suck`er\, n. (Zo["o]l.) One of several species of insectivorous birds, belonging to Caprimulgus and allied genera, esp. the European species ( Caprimulgus Europ[ae]us); -- so called from the mistaken notion that it sucks goats. The European species is also goat-milker, goat owl, goat chaffer, fern owl, night hawk, nightjar, night churr, churr-owl, gnat hawk, and dorhawk.

Night Hawk was a Canadian lacrosse player who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics.

In 1904 he was member of the Mohawk Indians Lacrosse Team which won the bronze medal in the lacrosse tournament.

Night Hawk (comics)

Night Hawk is a fictional character created by John James Brearley Garbutt and appeared in the boys' paper Nelson Lee in the early 1930s. The hero was rich scientist Thurston Kyle who built an armored, winged flying suit to fight crime. The earliest known appearance was in Nelson Lee, New Series No. 32, August 30, 1930 in "Rays of Death", under the pen name John Brearley.

Night Hawk appeared in the magazine from 1930-1931, including a serial, "The Phantom Foe", which ran from issues No. 69 (May 23, 1931) to No. 83 (August 22, 1931). The latter issue was his last appearance. Stories were reprinted later in The Boys' Friend Library.

Four new Night Hawk stories appeared in 2014 in a new book, "Night Hawk".
