Nariman (also spelled Narriman, Nareeman, or Neriman) is a name of Persian origin . It has roots traced to the Persian epic, Shahnameh, written by Ferdowsi. The name can mean "faith and brightness". It can also mean "brave, hero", with roots in the Avestan word naire-manå ("brave, manly"). In other countries, it has perceived the meaning of "the one of beautiful physique". Its female form is Narimane.

Nariman is an ancient Persian name meaning "faith and brightness." The name was first referred to in the historic Shahname of Ferdowsi as son of Gorshtasb, and father of Sām who himself is grandfather of Rostam the hero (Rostam's Father was Zal).

Nariman (film)

Nariman is a 2001 Malayalam film. Directed by K. Madhu, this film is an investigative thriller. Suresh Gopi appears in the title role as Ashok Nariman, a Crime Branch DySP who is assigned to re-investigate "couple murder case" and later to investigate "Ammini missing case". Along with him, Siddique, Jagathi Sreekumar, Jagadeesh, Anju, Augustine, T. P. Madhavan, N. F. Varghese, Sadiq, Janardanan, Ashokan and Samyuktha Varma also shares the screen. The script was done by S. N. Swamy. This film turned out to be a Super hit. The rights to broadcast is held by Kiran TV.

The movie was dubbed into Hindi as Farz ki Pukaar.
