Nalerigu is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is located in the Northern Region of Ghana. he current member of Parliament for the constituency is Dr.Tia Alfred Sugri . He was elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and won a majority of 4,006 votes more than candidate closest in the race, to win the constituency election to become the MP. He succeeded Hajia Alima Mahama who had represented the constituency in the 4th Republican parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). .
Nalerigu is a small town in the East Mamprusi district, a district in the Northern Region of Ghana.
It is the capital town of the Mamprusi people, the seat of the Paramount Chief the NaYiri.
It is also the location of the Baptist Medical Centre and the Nalerigu Secondary School. The school is a second cycle institution.
