Nagada

Nagada, also known as Naqada, was a town in Ancient Egypt. It existed before and during the union of Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, the so-called Protodynastic Period of Egypt. The process of unification apparently started from Nagada. Nagada is also the type site of the Naqada I (Amratian), Naqada II (Gerzean), and Naqada III (Dynasty 0) predynastic cultures.
