Momofuku (album)

Momofuku is an album released in 2008 by Elvis Costello and the Imposters. The album also features collaborations with Rilo Kiley's frontwoman Jenny Lewis. The album title refers to Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant ramen noodles, and the speed at which the album was conceived and created. It was first released on vinyl and as a digital download, then later released on CD.

Momofuku (cookbook)

Momofuku (ISBN 030745195X) is a cookbook by American award-winning chef David Chang and The New York Times food writer Peter Meehan. The book was released in October 2009 by Clarkson Potter, a subsidiary of Random House. In addition to describing unique Asian-American recipes centered on the ramen noodle, the book tells the trials and tribulations of launching Chang's popular New York City restaurants. Chang, a three-time James Beard Award winner, gives a colorful behind the scene description of food preparation in a busy restaurant kitchen. The book is illustrated by photo journalist Gabriele Stabile with images of the dishes and the scenes of the chef and staff in the restaurants.

The restaurants are: Momofuku Noodle Bar, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Booker & Dax, Má Pêche, Momofuku Ko, Momofuku Milk Bar, Momofuku Seiōbo, Momofuku Noodle Bar (TO), Nikai, Daishō, Shōtō, and Fuku. Momofuku have locations in New York City in the form of Momofuku Noodle Bar, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Má Pêche, Momofuku Ko, Milk Bar, Booker & Dax, and Fuku. Momofuku Seiōbo is located in Sydney, Australia, and Momofuku Noodle Bar (TO), Nikai, Daishō and Shōtō opened in Toronto, Ontario in 2012. Momofuku CCDC is in Washington, DC.

"Momofuku" could be translated from Japanese as "lucky peach", though Chef David Chang has written that the name is "an indirect nod" to Momofuku Ando, the Taiwanese-Japanese inventor of instant ramen. Chang also suggested it is not an accident he chose a word that sounds like the English curse word "motherfucker".
