What is "martebo"

Martebo is a settlement in the northwestern part of the Swedish island of Gotland. Formerly a socken, on 1January 2016, it was reconstituted into the administrative area Martebo District. In 2006, the Stenkyrka parish was expanded to include the settlements of Tingstäde, Martebo and Lummelunda.
