Laryngotomy \Lar`yn*got"o*my\, n. [Gr. (?); (?), (?), the larynx + te`mnein to cut: cf. F. laryngotomie.] (Surg.) The operation of cutting into the larynx, from the outside of the neck, for assisting respiration when obstructed, or for removing foreign bodies.
