Küçükçekmece
Küçükçekmece (; from earlier Küçükçökmece "little depression"; ancient Bathonea) is a large, crowded suburb on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey 23 km west of the city, on the European shore of the sea of Marmara, beyond Atatürk Airport. The population of the area, which covers 38 km², reaches 761,064.
