Kingston (electoral district)

Kingston was a federal electoral district represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1867 to 1925 and from 1953 to 1968. It was located in the province of Ontario. It was created by the British North America Act of 1867, and initially consisted of the city of Kingston, Ontario. In 1903, it was expanded to include the village of Portsmouth.

The electoral district was abolished in 1924 when it was redistributed into Kingston City riding.

In 1952, a new Kingston riding was created from Kingston City and parts of Frontenac—Addington ridings. It consisted of the city of Kingston and the townships of Pittsburg, Storrington, Kingston, Howe Island, and Wolfe Island (including Simcoe Island, Horse Shoe Island, and Mud Island) in the county of Frontenac.

The electoral district was abolished in 1966 when it was redistributed between Frontenac—Lennox and Addington and Kingston and the Islands ridings.

Kingston (horse)

Kingston (1884–1912) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He won 89 races, the most in the history of the sport of Thoroughbred racing. Of his 138 starts, he was out of the money only on four occasions. He was later inducted into the United States Racing Hall of Fame.

Kingston (Upper Marlboro, Maryland)

Kingston, or Sasscer's House, is a -story historic home located at Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It is believed to be the oldest building remaining in the town of Upper Marlboro and may have been built, at least in part, before 1730. Many alterations and additions made to it in the Victorian era, including "gingerbread" details typical of this era. The Craufurd family cemetery is located in the woods northwest of the house.

Kingston was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is located in the Upper Marlboro Residential Historic District.
