Khilona (1970 film)

Khilona ( English: Toy) is a 1970 Indian drama film, produced by L.V. Prasad on Prasad Productions Pvt.Ltd. banner and directed by Chander Vohra. Starring Sanjeev Kumar, Mumtaz, Jeetendra in lead roles. Other actors in supporting roles are Shatrughan Sinha, Durga Khote, Ramesh Deo, Jagdeep and music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The film recorded as "Super Hit" at the box office. The film was not remade in Tamil instead both Hindi and Tamil version were simultaneously made. Tamil version had Engirundho Vandhaal with Sivaji Ganesan and Jayalalithaa.

The film received six nominations at the 18th Filmfare Awards in 1971 of which it won the Filmfare Best Movie Award and Filmfare Best Actress Award for Mumtaz. Other nominations were for Best Actor (Sanjeev Kumar), Best Comic (Jagdeep), Best Story (Gulshan Nanda), and Best Male Playback Singer ( Mohd. Rafi).

Khilona (Khilauna/The Toy) is a 1942 social Hindi film directed by Sarvottam Badami. The film was produced at Ranjit Studios by Amar Pictures. It had music by Khemchand Prakash with lyrics by Pandit Indra Chandra. Khilona was one of the major films which brought the actress Snehprabha Pradhan into prominence. The cast included Snehprabha Pradhan, P. Jairaj, Prabha, Satish, Kanhaiyalal and Pratima Devi.
