Khamgaon

Khamgaon is a city in Buldhana District, Maharashtra, India. It has most of the government offices in the district. Khamgaon is the biggest city in the Buldhana district and there have been demands to carve out a separate Khamgaon district from the Buldana district. The proposed Khamgaon District would comprise Khamgaon, Shegaon, Sangrampur (Sonala), Jagaon (Jamod), Malkapur, Nandura and Motala tehsils.

Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shegaon, a holy place of the Hindus, is located near khamgaon.

Khamgaon (Lok Sabha constituency)

Khamgaon Lok Sabha constituency was a Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency of Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency was in existence during Lok Sabha elections of 1962, 1967 and 1971 for the 3rd to 5th Lok Sabha. It was abolished for 1977 Lok Sabha elections, with creation of new Washim (Lok Sabha constituency) in neighbouring Akola district. It was reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate.

Khamgaon (Vidhan Sabha constituency)

Khamgaon (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is one of the 288 constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha and one of the seven which are located in the Buldhana district.

It is a part of the Buldhana (Lok Sabha constituency) along with five other Vidhan Sabha(assembly) constituencies, viz. Buldhana, Chikhali, Sindkhed Raja, Mehkar and Jalgaon(Jamod).

The seventh Malkapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) from the Buldhana district is a part of the Raver (Lok Sabha constituency) from neighbouring Jalgaon district.

As of 2008, the extent of the constituency comprised the entire Khamgaon taluka and part of the Shegaon taluka with the Jalamb, Pahurjira and Matargaon revenue circles. The remaining part of the Shegaon taluka along with Shegaon Munucipal Council are in extent of Jalgaon (Jamod) (Vidhan Sabha constituency).
