KCEU (89.7 FM)The Edge "Eastern Utah's Only Alternative"(formerly 89.9 The Edge and 107.9 The Edge) is a radio station with a FCC issued permit for Price, Utah, USA. The station is currently owned by Utah State University-College of Eastern Utah (USU Eastern). The station received license for full operation on February 3, 2010. KCEU currently operates on a 440 watt transmitter that effectively covers the greater Carbon county area, but plans are pending to increase coverage to 6,000 watts which would increase service to all of Carbon and most of Emery counties in eastern Utah. At that point station management, as well as university administration, hope to develop translator sites throughout the surrounding area. The Edge provides on online stream of its content at http://theedge.ceu.edu. The Edge runs an alternative format prominently featuring the "Alternative Weekly Top 40". KCEU is a curriculum based station within the Department of Journalism and Communication at USU Eastern in Price. All staff are broadcast communication students from within the department.
In late 2014, the station began simulcasting KUSU-FM Logan Utah as a relayer for that station covering the area. the parent station being an NPR affiliate broadcasting news, classical music, and other programming. It is not known if they will be adding HD Radio to rebroadcast the other stations heard on the Utah Public Radio network stations, but see the KUSU website for that station's program schedule now heard on KCEU.
