Itwa is a tehsil and town in the Siddharthnagar district in Basti division within Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and adjacent to Nepal. Itwa is situated 182 km from the State's Capital City Lucknow.

Itwa (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is one of the 403 assembly constituencies of Uttar Pradesh a northern state of India. Itwa is also part of Domariyaganj Lok Sabha constituency.

Mata Prasad Pandey won Itwa constituency for the six consecutive term from Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal, Janata Party (Secular) and Lok Dal.
