Hands is the debut studio album by English singer and songwriter Little Boots. It was released on 5 June 2009 by 679 Recordings and Atlantic Records to generally positive reviews. Many critics complimented its "well-crafted" pop songs and "diverse" production. Hands primarily features songs about love, relationships and heartbreak, and takes influence from a variety of music styles such as disco, 1980s synthpop and Eurodance.

The album reached the top five in Little Boots' native United Kingdom, and its first two singles, " New in Town" and " Remedy", charted inside the top fifteen and top ten, respectively.

The song has a fast-paced 1980s indie pop sound, similar to the duo's previous songs. The single was released to radio airplay on 18 August 2010 after premiering on the Huw Stephens show on BBC Radio 1 at 9:30 pm; a remix was also be released for free via digital download on 11 October 2010 on the band's Facebook page. The song was performed at the Wireless Festival, as part of the setlist; they were joined with dancers holding signs, saying work, which when flipped around, would say dance. The song debuted at number 29 on the UK Singles Chart. The line spoken by Jules at the start of the song, "I don't want to go out. Hands is an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was founded in 2012 and previously released an EP, Massive Context, on Small Plates Records. Their first single was debuted by Nylon Magazine in April 2012. The band also released a 7” on White Iris Records in January 2013. In January, the band signed to Kill Rock Stars and announced that its forthcoming debut full-length, Synesthesia, would be released by the label on April 30, 2013. The first single from the album, "Trouble", was debuted exclusively on Stereogum, and the band performed at SXSW in 2013. On January 9, 2013, Lauren Laverne featured "Trouble" between Depeche Mode and Veronica Falls on BBC6., and later featured it as the BBC MPFree of the day. On January 23, 2013, Nylon Magazine premiered the first single from their new 7" release on White Iris Records. The track, entitled "All I Want To Know", was subsequently featured by Filter Magazine.

Hands performed at Kill Rock Stars' SXSW showcase in 2013, and was featured in ABC News' 7 Emerging Artists On The Rise article. On March 25, 2013, Hands was named New Band Of The Day by The Guardian.

Hands (Dave Holland and Pepe Habichuela album)

Hands is a 2010 album by English jazz double bassist Dave Holland and Spanish flamenco guitarist Pepe Habichuela. The unlikely pairing was arranged by Minuel Ferrand, the director of musical events for the Cultural Department of Andalusia. The first meeting took place in 2007, with four days of rehearsals, followed by three concerts. The group was expanded in May of 2008 and recorded Hands in March of 2009, and released on Holland's own label Dare2. Eight of the ten tracks on the album were written by Pepe Habichuela based on the flamenco tradition, while Holland contributes two originals.

Hands (metal band)

Hands was an American Christian metal band from Fargo, North Dakota. The band started making music in 2007, with lead vocalist and guitarist Shane Ochsner, lead guitarist Jerik Hendrickson, bass guitarist Chris Schwartz, and drummer Josh Silbernagel. Ian Johnson became the bands lead guitarist in 2010, but he has since left the band, with Shane Oshsner taking over lead guitar duties. The band released one extended play, The Everlasting, independently in 2007. Their first studio album, The Sounds of Earth, was released by Oort Records in 2009. The band signed with Facedown Records, where they released Creator, a studio album, in 2009. The third studio album, Give Me Rest, was released in 2011, also on Facedown Records.

"Hands", sometimes known as "White Hands", is a controversial political advertisement aired on television during the United States Senate election in North Carolina, 1990 by incumbent Jesse Helms' political campaign, criticising his opponent for being in favor of racial quotas. The advertisement is considered to be an important factor for Helms' victory over Harvey Gantt. It was written and produced by Alex Castellanos.

The advertisement shows the hands of a white man in a plaid shirt reading and then crumpling up a job rejection letter, while a voiceover says "You needed that job, and you were the best qualified. But they had to give it to a minority because of a racial quota. Is that really fair?" The advert compared Helms to Gantt by saying that Gantt was "for racial quotas" while Helms was against them.

Hands (2016 song)

"Hands" is a charity single recorded by various artists for the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting. It was written by Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, and BloodPop, and produced by the latter and Mark Ronson. All of the song's proceeds benefit the families affected during the shooting, and will help cover medical costs and counseling efforts. The song was conceived by Tranter, the day after the United States' deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman occurred.

Approximately 24 artists assisted in the making of "Hands", which was released as a digital download on July 6, 2016. Interscope Records handled the release, allowing artists to use their studios most convenient to them. In addition to Tranter and Interscope, GLAAD also helped with the single. Proceeds from the song will be donated to the Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD.
