Goole

Goole is a town, civil parish and inland port located at junction 36 off the M62 via the A614 and approximately from the North Sea at the confluence of the rivers Don and Ouse in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, although historically within the West Riding of Yorkshire. According to the 2011 UK census, Goole parish had a population of 19,518, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 17,600. The port, which is the UK's furthest inland port, is highly versatile and capable of handling nearly 3 million tonnes of cargo per annum, making it one of the most important ports on the east coast of England.

Goole is twinned with Złotów in Poland. Goole was informally twinned with Gibraltar in the 1960s; at that time, Gibraltar Court was named in Goole and Goole Court was named in Gibraltar.

Goole (UK Parliament constituency)

Goole was a parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Goole in the West Riding of Yorkshire which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first-past-the-post voting system.

It was created for the 1950 general election, and abolished for the 1983 general election.

Goole (rugby league)

Goole was a semi-professional rugby league club based in Goole, Yorkshire, England. The club joined the ranks of the Northern Union semi-professionals in 1901–02 and played for the single season in the Yorkshire Senior Competition, which was effectively Division 2 (East).
