Gnomic \Gnom"ic\, Gnomical \Gnom"ic*al\, a. [Gr. ?, fr. ?: cf. F. gnomique. See Gnome maxim.] Sententious; uttering or containing maxims, or striking detached thoughts; aphoristic.
