trans-Glutaconic acid is an organic compound with formula HOCCH=CHCHCOH. This dicarboxylic acid exists as a colorless solid and is related to the saturated chemical glutaric acid, HOCC(CH)COH. Esters and salts of glutaconic acid are called glutaconates.
