What is "gavialinum"

Gavialinum is an extinct genus of teleosaurid thalattosuchian. Fossils have been found from France that date back to the Bathonian stage of the Middle Jurassic. Despite what its name may suggest, the genus is not related to gavialids as was previously thought, having occurred much earlier than any crocodilian.
