What is "elele"

Elele is a town in Rivers State, Nigeria. The towns indigenous ethnic group are the Ikwerre people who are a sub group of the igbo. The people of Elele have a common ancestor called "Ochichi",who migrated from the ancient Benin in company of akalaka the founder of the present day Ekpeye and Ogba respectively,it is the traditional head of the "Ishimbam" or head of the tribe with reference to Ogbakor Ikwerre Socio-cultural organisation.
