Eglinton (TTC)

Eglinton is a subway station on the Yonge–University line in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue West. It is one of the larger stations of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), with several shops located on the concourse level. It is the busiest station that is not a line terminus or a major transfer point with another line or transit system.

The station is on three levels, all six entrances are scattered throughout the street level in the surrounding area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue, the concourse and collector is on the second level, and the subway platform is on the lower level.

Eglinton (electoral district)

Eglinton was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1935 to 1979. This riding was created in 1933 from parts of Toronto Northeast riding.

It initially consisted of Ward Nine of the city of Toronto.

In 1966, it was redefined to consist of the part of Metropolitan Toronto bounded as follows: from the intersection of the Canadian National Railway line and Yonge Street, north along Yonge Street, west along Cameron Avenue, north along Easton Street, west along Sheppard Avenue West, south along Bathurst Street, southwest along Highway 401, south along the Spadina Expressway, Beechmount Avenue and Benner Avenue, east along Briar Hill Avenue, south along Castlewood Road, east along Eglinton Avenue, south along Elmsthorpe Avenue, and southeast along the C.N.R. line to Yonge Street.

The electoral district was abolished in 1976 when it was redistributed between Eglinton—Lawrence, St. Paul's and Willowdale ridings.

Eglinton was a provincial electoral district located in Toronto, Ontario. From 1926 until 1999 it elected members to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. At its abolishment in 1999 it consisted of the neighbourhoods of Davisville and Lawrence Park in the north end of the old city of Toronto. It was abolished into Eglinton—Lawrence, Don Valley West and St. Paul's.
