Detox (album)

Detox is the cancelled studio album by American hip hop recording artist Dr. Dre, originally slated for release between 2011 and 2012 through Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. Slated to be his final album, production for Detox began in 2000, but was delayed several times as Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on producing for artists that were on his Aftermath record label, with the constant production delays being compared to Guns N' Roses's 2008 album, Chinese Democracy. Initially announced in 2000 after the release of Dr. Dre's previous album 2001 (1999), Detox went through many renditions during its 11-year production period, with the album being scrapped and restarted many times. The album failed to have a confirmed release date, in the end the project was shelved due to Dr. Dre believing the project "wasn't good enough", the album spawned two official singles, " Kush" and " I Need a Doctor".
