Dalečín

Dalečín is a village and municipality ( obec) in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. Dalečín lies approximately east of Žďár nad Sázavou, north-east of Jihlava, and south-east of Prague. The municipality consist of the Dalečín, Hluboké and Veselí. Chudobín had been part of the municipality since 1955 until its flooding by Vír Dam.

The name is most probably related to first name Daleca, which could be a form of names Dalebor or Dalemil. Throughout history the name of the village had different forms – for example Daleczin, Daleczyn, Daletčín, Dalecžin, Dalletchin or Daletschin. The municipality covers an area of , and has a population of 642 (as at 2014).
