Crikey was described by former Federal Opposition Leader Mark Latham as the "most popular website in Parliament House" in The Latham Diaries. It had in 2014 around 17,000 paying subscribers.

In 2016 editorship passed to Cassidy Knowlton, who succeeded Marni Cordell.
