Clear Lake (California)

Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in California with 68 square miles of surface area. Lakes have existed at the site of Clear Lake for at least 2,500,000 years, possibly making it the oldest lake in North America. It is located in Lake County, north of Napa County and San Francisco.

Known as the "Bass Capital of the West," Clear Lake supports large populations of bass, crappie, bluegill, carp and catfish. Two-thirds of the fish caught in Clear Lake are largemouth bass, with a record of 17.52 pounds. Clear Lake was most recently ranked by Bassmaster Magazine in its 2016 top-100 ranking as the No. 3 best bass lake in the United States and the No. 1 best bass lake on the West Coast.

In addition to fish, there is abundant wildlife within the Basin. There are year-round populations of ducks, pelicans, grebes, blue herons, egrets, osprey, and bald eagles. The Basin also supports abundant populations of deer, bear, mountain lion, raccoon and other animals.

The expansive, warm water of Clear Lake makes it popular for watersports, such as swimming, water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, boat races, and jet skiing.

Clear Lake (Linn County, Oregon)

Clear Lake is a mountain lake 86 mi (138 km) northeast of Eugene, Oregon, United States in Linn County. It has two main bodies connected by a bottleneck. The lake is primarily fed by snow runoff from nearby Mount Washington and the surrounding areas. The runoff filters through underground caverns for more than 20 years before emptying into Clear Lake. The lake is also fed by two small creeks which may dry up seasonally.

Clear Lake is the headwaters of the McKenzie River, which is the sole source of drinking water for Eugene.

Eil Malk (also Mecherchar) is part of the Rock Islands, a group of small, rocky, mostly uninhabited islands in Palau's Southern Lagoon, between Koror and Peleliu. There are about 70 other marine lakes located throughout the Rock Islands. Clear Lake is notable for endemic subspecies of golden jellyfish and is one of five marine lakes in Palau used for several scientific researches in evolutionary biology the other lakes being Jellyfish Lake, Goby Lake, Uet era Ngermeuangel, Uet era Ongael.

Clear Lake, or the Clear Lake Area, is a region in parts of Harris and Galveston County in Texas, United States. It is part of the Galveston Bay Area, which itself is a section of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. The area is geographically characterized by the bodies of water in it and around it, including Clear Lake, Taylor Lake, Clear Creek, and Galveston Bay.

Clear Lake is relatively affluent with a thriving business community. The area's most important business sectors are aerospace and tourism. It is home to the Johnson Space Center and numerous aerospace contracting firms. The lake itself is home to one of the largest concentrations of recreational boats and marinas in the nation.

It is a popular fishing destination, with walleye, bullhead, yellow bass and channel catfish. People from Des Moines and Minneapolis–Saint Paul have had homes on the shores of the lake since the 1870s. The average depth is and the maximum depth is , in the dredged area of the west end. Clear Lake (Wasco County, Oregon)

Clear Lake is a mountain lake southeast of Portland, Oregon, United States in Mount Hood National Forest. It can be seen from flights in the region as a bird-shaped body of water.

It is south of Mount Hood and northeast of Timothy Lake, near the junction of U.S. Route 26 and Skyline Road at the latter's northern terminus. It is near the northwest corner of Wasco County. The Pacific Crest Trail is 4 km (2 mi) west of the lake.

It is fed by several small streams of the eastern Cascade crest. It is the headwaters of Clear Creek, a tributary of the White River, blocked at the east end by the Wasco Dam. The earthen dam was a 1959 irrigation project of the United States Bureau of Reclamation, 59 feet high and 1901 feet long at its crest.

Clear Lake Butte is a butte south of the lake, and defines the northwest corner of Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The lake is known for abundant fish and its windy conditions. The banks are edged by tree stumps and free range cattle tracks. The campground has 28 established spots and an overflow area.

Clear Lake is a natural body of water impounded by sand dunes along the Oregon Coast of the Pacific Ocean in the United States. The lake is the municipal water supply for the city of Reedsport, which lies about northeast of the lake. Clear Lake is closed to public access to protect the purity of the water.

U.S. Route 101 runs north–south along the west side of the lake. The community of Winchester Bay is north of the lake; Umpqua Lighthouse State Park and the mouth of the Umpqua River are to the northwest, and Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area runs along the coast to the west. The outflow from Clear Lake is south to Edna Lake, Clear Creek, and Eel Lake.

Clear Lake, at above sea level, is the highest of several lakes formed by dunes encroaching on Clear Creek's ancestral valley. Water from this string of lakes, including Eel Lake and Tenmile Lake, flows generally south into Tenmile Creek in Coos County, which flows west into the Pacific near the community of Lakeside.

Clear Lake is a freshwater lake located in central Orlando, Florida. This lake, somewhat lemon shaped, is surrounded by a residential area. A series of canals on the lake's southwest provide boat access for the houses there. John Young Parkway borders the lake on part of its west side. A very small portion of John Young Parkway crosses the extreme western part of Clear Lake.

Fishing, walking and boating are popular activities. There are no public swimming areas on the shore of this lake. Three public parks border Clear Lake. On the extreme western edge is Washington Shore Park, which is mainly a park with a track, football field and four softball fields. Another park, Clear Lake Park, is on the southeast edge of the lake. This park has walking trails, a fishing dock and a boardwalk. A third park, George Barker Memorial Park, is on the northeast corner of the lake. A public boat ramp in this park is on a canal leading to Clear Lake. This park also has two fishing piers, playgrounds, a volleyball court and a basketball court.
