Cherukuri
Cherukuri is one of the Indian surnames, mostly found in Andhra Pradesh, in both Kaapu & kamma(chowdary) communities. There is a village by the name of Cherukuru in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is known that surnames ending with -uri or -uru arise due to the reason that people hailing from that village take the name of the village as their surname as a marker when they embark on a migratory journey ( in ancient times crossing Krishna river and going to Krishna District from Guntur District). There is big family tree with Cherukuri surname in Narasapur (W.G.Dt) from Kaapu community.
